All arrows point up across the Greater Denver Metro Area housing market this July. With 4% higher home sales year over year, year-to-date home sales are higher than this time last year while prices continue a steady year-over-year rise.
Holiday Weekends & The Housing Market
While families celebrate Independence Day together, it is typical to see slightly lower home sales in July compared to June. This year was no exception – at 5,752 homes sold, July was down just slightly from last month. Home prices also saw a slight month-over-month decrease.
Despite the holiday weekend, sellers across Colorado brought 6,642 new listings of homes for sale to the market, 3% more than last July. The month ended with over 9,000 homes for sale across the Greater Denver Metro Area.
Buying a Home in the Fall
As fall approaches, bringing back-to-school activities with it, Colorado real estate agents prepare for changes in the housing market. If you’re considering buying a home this fall, ask your local REALTOR® about the housing market in your area.
An experienced real estate agent can help you navigate market conditions, see new home listings as soon as they hit the market, and negotiate an offer based on the true value of the home.
