The Idea Home by Jackson Design Build

Whether you’re in the market for a new home, or just looking for ideas to brighten up your current space, August and September are great months to preview the latest decorating ideas and trends new home builders and developers are using. While you can always peek inside these fabulous homes – virtually – on REcolorado.com, right now you can see them in person by taking a Parade of Homes tour.

There are many striking houses on the tour, including the Jackson Design Build Idea Home in Denver. The following guest blog post by S. Robert August outlines the exceptional features that make up this beautiful home. Located at 1606 S. Cook Street, the 6,176 square foot home – outfitted with four floors of luxury amenities and ENERGY STAR certifications – it is sure to stop you in your tracks.

Jackson Design Build at Parade of Homes

The Idea Home is a comprehensive, modern urbanist 25-room retreat, including five complete bedroom, bathroom, and closet suites plus three additional rooms that can be converted into three more bedroom/bathroom walk-in closet suites.

Each of the four living levels has outdoor recreational areas from which to enjoy private solace or festive occasions with family and friends.

The home is priced at $1,479,999.00.

MAIN FLOOR

Upon visualizing the Idea Home from the front of the home, one is introduced to a Colorado Modern Contemporary Architecture Three Story Home. There is a Covered Porch on the left side and an enclosed Patio below from the lower living level.

The double entrance doors open to a beautifully designed Foyer, providing expansive light from the magnificent window placement and upper entry tower.

To the immediate right of the Foyer is a Study with fireplace and finely-crafted woodwork.

Adjacent to the Study entrance is a coat closet and then a fashionable Powder Room which is next to the Stair Case.

The Foyer opens directly into a large Entry Hall, which finds the Dining Room to the left with an atrium door ensemble entry to the outdoor Covered Porch.

Directly adjacent to the Dining Room is the Gourmet Kitchen with cooking island, finely crafted cabinets with exceptional storage and state-of-the-art appliances to excite a world-class chef.

Of special note is the Mud Room designed with two pantries, storage closet, and bench adjacent to an exterior entrance door leading to a wonderful Patio for relaxation and entertainment.

Also adjacent to the Kitchen is the Gathering Room, offering the look and feel of a comfortable Country Kitchen and providing a warm and cozy environment with patio doors opening to the rear Patio.

The two-car Garage is placed conveniently to the rear of the property, detached from the home with ample space for gardening or recreational activity.

SECOND FLOOR

Approaching the second floor, a Mezzanine appears. To the left, there are two Bedroom Bathroom Walk-in Closet Suites, complete with windows on two walls, providing extraordinary natural light. These Bedrooms are next to the Upper Entry Tower, which adds an architectural flare and more natural light into the second floor.

As one walks back to the rear of the second floor, there is a Laundry Room after the staircase that serves the three major bedrooms of the home. The Laundry Room is complete with linen cabinet, sink, storage cabinets, and counter top.

The spacious Master Suite, including an outdoor balcony, is like a Ritz Carlton retreat. It offers a see-through fireplace that serves the Master Bedroom and luxurious Master Bathroom Spa, including a 42” x 72” pedestal soaking bathtub, a large shower, and a his-and-her separate lavatory compartment, in addition to a private water closet and two magnificent walk-in closets, complete with dressers and unique hanging and storage.

There are also windows from which to be able to distinguish colors and mirrors to determine the appropriate look.

THIRD FLOOR

The third above-grade living area is complete with a Covered Terrace, Craft Room or Additional Study, HVAC Attic Room and fifth Bedroom Bathroom Suite.

LOWER LIVING LEVEL

Below the main entry living area, the lowest level is comprised of the fourth Bedroom-Bathroom Suite with a private outdoor Patio. This bedroom is perfect for the boomerang child or parent returning home who needs a private retreat.

This lower-level has two Mechanical Rooms, Hallway, Playroom (which can be converted into another Bedroom), Storage and future Media Room, Billiards Room, and/or Library.

OUTDOOR LIVING

The Landscaping has been designed with xeriscape drought tolerant plantings that conserve water and energy while complementing the natural environment. The exterior rear Patio/Yard also includes a built-in barbecue for entertaining family and friends.

SQUARE FOOTAGE

The main three living levels host 3,878.69 square feet while the lower level provides for 714.71 finished square feet with the potential to complete another 1,098.31 square feet plus the garage of 484 square feet. The total square footage is 6,175.71.

This Denver Cory-Merrill / Jackson Design Build Idea Home meets the needs of a growing family, active adult family, empty nesters, and a one-two-three-four generation household.
